Bing_0
so i sold my old set of kicks with the crystal midbass and the DLS ur1 tweet. while they sounded great, i wanted to get back to even more of my fundamental belief of simplicity. So I got a set of Morel Ovation Integra 6" coaxials. I always loved morel speakrs for their tonal smoothness, and we may carry morel as a line soon. I first removed the built in cap and modified the speakres so they can be bi-amped. then i built a set of simple kicks for them...the cross over point is at 3500...midbass improved a little, but what i love them for is the smooth mid and highs...imagine also improved a little in terms of center focus...quite happy with the results, so now fianlly i can say, i only have two coaxs and a sub in my car, care to listen? i am a little conerned abou the open gille, but i think they will be alright, i take pretty good care of my kicks, for htose with a clumsy foot or passengers, i would suggest a enclosed mesh grille. cbickell
Ah, so Veneficus is the lucky recipient of Bing's kicks....good move! I had the pleasure of hearing them in person about a week ago, and they were fully capable of moving internal organs without much effort. Clean and tight! Enjoy em.Snazzy work on the new kicks as well Bing.

ovlov
what are you using for carpet on those pods? I've been looking hard for something to match that red-tinted tan beige whatchmacallit color Volvo used. looks great by the way
Bing_0
i used flexform carpet, and camel is the color, its hte cloest i have been able to come, but its not a perfect match, under hte lighting of hte pictures it looks better matched tan it is...the hard thing is that most automotive carpet are too stiff to go over the complex shapes of the kick panel...b
