Attn All Your Guys Making Your Own Dps

I don't understand why people are being so secretive about this?  Just tell the man where to get a flange!

Don't worry about it Greg. The answer is going to be VMS anyways, and they never return phone calls, PMs, or emails when you want to buy something from them. I already bought a turbo today from someone else that I have been trying to buy from them for TWO MONTHS NOW before finally giving up. I've never seen a business that's so hard to give money to. They must have so much they don't need any more.

I'm just going to add the flanges to my growing list of parts I have to make myself. Don't worry, I'll get my flange and so will many others.

BINGO! that's what I did.

I also tried to place a order from VMS. I wanted a set of head studs and never got a email back from them.

Last I heard VMS literally has more business than they can handle, so you're not too far off from the truth, Slater.

Great, more power to em. But you don't leave potential customers high and dry by ignoring them. That's just wrong. They keep that up and they won't have "more business than they can handle" for long.

A busy business that cares about customer service at least explains that you're busy and why and tries to accomodate customers as best as you can. I don't know how "special" you are, but it doesn't take a long time to write down a credit card number and put a turbo in a box for UPS to pick up. Sorry man, I dont buy it. If I wanted an engine rebuilt while I waited that would be another story.

I've made several inquiries with VMS via email and gotten very quick (usually within the hour) and friendly responses. Maybe you need to work on your people skills.

I think they're doing great work.

Well that's great for you. Maybe you have the golden touch. Consider yourself lucky.

Here's an example of a call I made:

"Hi, my name is Greg and I would like to order a turbo from you guys. Please give me a call back an xxx-xxx-xxxx and let me know if you have one in stock and how you would like payment. Thanks."

I was just calling as Joe Shmoe off the street. A potential customer with money in hand. I also sent 2 PMs, 2 more phone calls and 1 email over TWO MONTHS time, all similar in wording. Never heard a peep. Now that's how to run a business! Oh wait that's right, I have to work on MY people skills - how silly of me to not realize, right?

In their defense though, I know Terry or whoever runs the place was out of town for a week. But that doesn't explain the other 7 weeks...

You know I'm just messing with you, right?

I don't know why they didn't respond to you. If it went down like you say, then that's a pretty shabby way to deal with customers. But just going off of my conversations with Terry, and Rob, they both seem to be all about helping out.

Sorry if I came off a little standoffish - I didn't know you were joking. I'm just a little miffed about the whole ordeal and don't find much humor in the whole ordeal :0(

All I wanted was a gosh danged turbo. I was trying to take advantage of their 10% VS sale and was very frustrated that I was not able to get a hold of them the entire duration of the sale. That's why I finally gave up and took my money elsewhere. The place I did go was VERY responsive, had great prices, and I recommend them to anyone.

If you need a new or rebuilt turbo, or need work done to your turbo, I highly recommend these guys. They do it right and treat you A-OK.

Who the hell are you people trying to reach.

I can tell you that i don't start working in the shop until the afternoon because i have a 16 month old son and i have to watch him in the mornings until the baby sitter shows up but i also work until 3;00 am all of the time.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I called the number listed on your site and left messages, emailed the address listed on your site, asked Rob to help me get a hold of you, and PMd you directly. I didn't know how else to get a hold of you.

I too have a 15 month old daughter and know how hectic things can get, but going MIA for the 2 months I was trying to get a hold of you seemed a little odd to me. I figured you were pissed at me or blowing me off or who knows. Like I mentioned, I was cutting you slack because I know you're busy and Rob told me you were out of town for a week. But once it got to a certain point where I just flat out needed the turbo and had to find an alternate source (which I did).

I have no reason to be pissed at you at all. I think i do remember you calling and wanted to use a 15G turbo for a core to buy a 16T and i told you that my builder would not do that.

I appoligize if you think that i was trying to blow you off.
