Oil Seperator Tank

Recommended Posts

I have 100k+ on my 95 850, and want to go ahead and replace the oil seperator tank when I service the PCV hoses and whatnot.

However, VADIS lists 2 different tanks. Which is the right part number? Does one superceed the other?

Is there any other seals or orings I should replace related to the tank? I already have the 90 degree elbow coupling that goes into the tank. I'm thinking there should be some sort of coupling or oring or something where the tank attaches to the block...

Thanks!

Slater, when you find out, I'd like to know which one it is too, and how you figure it out....also would like to know P/N's for the orings and connectors you replace....I really need to do this, but have so much other stuff going on right now!

Slater, look at the engine code number that should be on a sticker on the timing belt cover. Here's the info you need:

For engines up to 330413, you need part number 9146756.

For engines 330414 and later, you need part number 1271988.

There aren't any seals related to the box that you need to worry about, but it would be good to make sure all of the lines being routed to and from the PCV to the head and to the air intake hose are free of obstructions. Also, while you have the manifold off, clean up the knock sensors and their connections, but pay attention to their original position and make sure they're put back the way they're found. Also, it would be good to go ahead and replace the vacuum elbow over on the passenger side of the manifold while you have easy access to it.

Awesome - that's exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks!
