matt1122
Don't they have a lower reistance or something, thus making them shitty when used in any sort of a non stock setup?
Bing_0
in my opinion, MB quart generally dont sound very good, very harsh spekaers and really way over priced. similar to bostons acoustic stuff...if I were to use them, I would put them in way off axis so their tweet dont burn your ears off, but still, I think there are better sounding speakres at very price level...b

My 2 rear door speakers are shot, I figure I'll get something decent but not outragous. I would do all of them over time.
Bing_0
well, are you running off of an amp? or stock power?and what kind of music do you mostly listen to?b
slarti
I've got the premium sound system in my 850R, I thought that had an amp. I don't have the funds to get crazy with it yet, but I'd like to get something better for now.I listen to everything but country, I prefer sound quailty rather than ear-shattering loud. I've gotta Bose and JBL in my house (bed room bose, family room has pro-level JBLs) If that gives you an idea. It's more about clarity than thump. Bing_0
well, to get the best sound inthe car on a budget, my suggestion is something like this:decent aftermarket HU: ($200 or so)small amp (4x50-75) shoudl cost 100 bucks if you shop aroundtwo decent 6.5" coaxes in front doors: ($75) decent 10" low powered sub ($75)thats it...spend another 100 bucks installing it yourself, and it will sound fine...b
Guest Guest_Yuri
I'd just get a new OEM speakers -I got '95 850 w/ 8-speaker stereo, and I think it sounds good. The tweeters broke off of my both rear speakers, so I cut them out.Aftyer spending around $1600 to make my wife's honda Pilot sound decent, I think the OEM speakers on Volvos are pretty good.
