Flyby
Sup, I just got a new 10" Alumna Pro Alchemy MX and the sound is amazing... My old one was just worn out after 5 years of bumpin' and bumpin' the junk in my trunk (literally). Now, I would like to add some sound to the rear of my car...I was thinking....For the rear doors: 5-1/4" Mid-bass driver (Where can I get one of these)Rear deck: 6X9's (Any suggestions?)ORComponent setup in the doors, and run the tweeters up to the rear deck pointing up towards the rear glass so they reflect the sound up front... OR just make some small mounts and mount them so they point forward.6X9's would then be purely for a little more mid-bass as well.????

Gregg
get rid of rear deck speakers...get some components with separate tweeters...put the mid-bass down in the doors and the tweets up in the pillars maybe? whatever you do, see if you can find a way to turn off sound to the rear speakers when you want to (like an on/off switch). Flyby
K, I will take your advice on the removal of the Rear Deck speakers....You mean an on/off switch to the rear door speakers? Or the rear deck? If its the doors, why would I want to turn them off?
Veneficus
Seriously Nat. I've played the audio game now for about 2 years with the Volvo. I've gone wth rear deck speakers and other stuff in the front and nothing sounds a good as kick pods. Also nothing is as powerful as the kick pods. I had passengers in the back who thought that I actually hadspeakers in the rear doors with the kick pods. No lie. Its better to invest in one quality set of speakers than just a load of semi-decent speakers. Remember bing_0's motto - Simplicity in Sound. Flyby
Well, then I think I am going to do this... get some $200-250 5-1/4 mid bass drivers or components for the rear doors, take out the rear 6X9's and just leave it at that.

Guest DougK
I think Im the only one who actually likes rear speakers :*(Course, I listen to jazz, blues and classic rock. I needed something to fill between a 100-1000hz mostly, and I hate how much space kickpods take up.
