Anyone Get Dynaudio (aftermarket) To Fit In 850's?

Would love to buy some dynaudio's on E-bay if they are as good as advertised. Do they HAVE to be amp'd if I just buy the 2-way coaxials? I want superb sound in my 850 without having to goto kick panels. I currently have the infinity references in the front but they have a harsh tweeter and aren't very smooth. I tried some Alpine 5.25 drop ins from best buy and they sound a little smoother but not exactly mindblowing. Anyone have any suggestions?

with the stock volvo amp you'll be underpowering the speakers, which won't let you have the full potential sound

try the alpines with a REAL amp and you'll see a difference

Hi, (Missed the aftermarket piece, but the info below still might get you on the right track)

The Dynaudio kit works with the S70 not in an 850 (if you are talking about the Volvo upgrade). Details here. Dynaudio speakers can be found in S70/S80/C70. Check out Jim's article and then go over to SS for more info on this topic. Of course you could put Dynaudio speakers in your 850, but they wouldn't be drop in replacements, you would have to make some modifications...and if your going to spend the money on Dynaudio then you should buy some good amps, etc.

The dyns will not be a drop-in replacement in the front door. However, it'll be a drop-in in the back door (MK220). Tell you what, I put my dyns in the back and boy it's awesome.

I recommend nakamichi (older version), such as SP-S522 or SP-S622. If you want better sound, take out the tweeters from those components and replace it with nakamichi SP-10 silk dome tweeter. But the downside is that the nakamichis are created for low power application (<45W RMS).
