2000 S70 No Start Sometimes

Recommended Posts

Yo fellas... my sis' 00 S70 GLT, she no starts.  Pulled code P0455 Evap Emission Control System Leak Detected.

What?????

Car has 55K on it, no ETS problems yet.  Bone Stock.

The evap code has nothing to do with it starting. I second Rich's question, does it turn over?

Is it turning over, or just the starter clicks and nothing happens? Cause I'm having a similar problem.

did you check for fuel?  Turn the key to pos. II and listen for the fuel pump.  If it's not runing, you need to make sure you are getting power to it.

ya, you can hear the pump...

I just went out and started it up, and it turned over on the first try.

but yesterday, i read and cleared the CEL, and it woudn't turn over at all..

hmmm...

ps - timing belt at 60K or 70K?

It's a '00 so the timing belt doesn't need to be done till like 105k If I recall Correctly. Did you check for spark? Unlplug the MAF? If you are worried about the timing belt, take the cover and check the tension, and the teeth on the belt.

There is a cover on the starter, take that off and make sure the greeen and red wire that goes to the starter is on good and tight, you might take it off, crimp it and then put it back on.

hmm... I'll scope that out, and no greg, i haven't done the MAF unplug trick yet..
