BTT

So what happened.  You didnt 180, if you had you would see 2 tire tracks then 4 then 2 again.  This all is so weird.  Drunk?  Someone else driving?  You cannot post pics then leave us hanging.  We wanna know.  Glad your alright.

For sure, the suspense is killing me...

When I had my accident, I posted the story before the pics, not vice versa :D

Ok ok

Well I’m still trying to figure out exactly what happened and how I reacted.

No ETOH had nothing to do with it, Volvo power and my heavy foot had everything to do with it.

I was on my way home at 8:30 pm or so from a tech rehearsal of a local high school play (I am providing sound equipment, mic’ing the stage & band and doing sound effects for the performances). I was looking forward to some food a beer and relaxing a little, I have been driving this road for over 25 years. I had been accelerating up a slight incline and leveled off I could see the road ahead and it was empty so I continued to accelerate that is till that black patch launched me around. The two skid marks where made by my passenger side tires you can see the gravel on the side near the patch is kicked up that was the rear tire coming around. Both the tires on the passenger side impacted the grass first the rear bead was popped by a small birm (bent the hub or spindle too), which spun the car around the other way and scraped the right front bumper against the hill. The bead on the right front tire was full of gravel and grass. Then I continued forward to where I came to rest.

That’s what I can put together at least. The Insurance estimate is a little over $5,000 I’m sure I can fix it for less. The bumper was pushed up and to the left the fenders are off to the left some too if you look at the hood lines. I took it to a four-wheel alignment shop and it aligned so I don’t think the frame is bent.

We wanna pic of the black patch. It sounds evil. How mush of a lip is there? Asphault to cement or does it stay the same?

You mean similar to this one on the first page?

That cannot be the patch in question. You can see hw was already off the road before he hit that and he was already skidding. If those marks are the two right side tires he was also sideways when he hit that patch. Ergo not what caused the loss of control. Is there a fast peak on the incline? Road Atlanta has a fast dip like that which causes the car to get very light and brakes to lock if your not expecting it.
