VolvoT5
Most 850's already come with a tranny cooler so why mess with it?←The heat exchange? It's built into the radiator, which is full of hot water....... Go figure. If you're talking about the aftermarket Volvo tranny cooler, then thats ok - but I dont think they were standard... def not over here! bobcat
Most 850's already come with a tranny cooler so why mess with it?←no, they come with a tranny heater, atf should be keep at 80c for 100k life, the coolant leaves the engine at ~90c.can you see the prob? lax01
Most 850's already come with a tranny cooler so why mess with it?←because most 850s don't come boosting 18psi....
Jaxx
i was thinking about something like this... has anyone seen the style that GT-R skylines have? they have a heatsink RIGHT ON THE TRANNY!-jaxx
Jaxx
...It also allows a little more tranny fluild in the system.←This isn't going to help overall temps. it will just take longer for it to heat up... which might be good for people who just drive short distances. Mesoam
Grant i KNOW you read my cooler review....point blankTHE NUMBER ONE CAUSE FOR TRANNY FAILURE IS EXCESSIVE HEAT!any time you are reducing temps you are extending tranny life.done....and...done
Jaxx
where does everyone tap a temp sensor for the tranny? before the cooler? after?
Zappo
where does everyone tap a temp sensor for the tranny? before the cooler? after?←You want it before to get the true temp of the fluid. The closer to the transmission the better, obviously, but you aren't going to lose a lot of temp before the fluid enters the cooler.
