Owned
For sale I have two Monster Cable Moster Caps of the 1 Farad variety as well as about a dozen remote control kits. Please forgive my photography skills as they are somewhat lacking. One cap has the digital display and the other does not. The prices will obviously reflect this. These caps are absolutely brand new. They have never been used or even charged. They are out of the original packaging as there were going to be installed but never were. Everything that was inside the original packaging is included: brackets, instructions, charge resistor, the digital comes with the extra long terminal screws. The terminals on both are 24k hard gold (these arn't any Lanzar or Pyles ). The digital has a retail of ~$200.00 and the other is about $150.00. I've provided the links to Monster's site for each cap.Digital:Standard:I can, of course, take more pictures of parts of interest for you upon your request. Here is the remote control unit. It is capable of controlling any two 12 volt pieces of equipment you chose. It will turn whatever you wire it to on and off without the car having to be turned on (of course you could wire it so the car does have to be on also) while you are within 600 feet of the unit (this number is from the package, I haven't tested mine out yet). The key fob is a very simple On/Off design with an acknowledgement LED in the top corner and a keyring clip on the bottom. In Package:Out of Box & Next to a AA Battery:Out of Box & Next to a AA Battery:As you can see the unit itself is pretty small and mountable in plenty of places.I'm looking for $110.00 on the digital + shipping (should be about $15.00 depending where you live). I'm looking for $80.00 on the standard cap + shipping. If you feel so inclined to make an offer, please feel free to do so and I will see what I can do. The remote kits are $20.00 + ship. Veneficus
I might want a remote kit. LEDs on a remote would be pretty sweet.
lax01
what exactly does the cap do?
theunderlord
what exactly does the cap do?← it stores electrons for when they're needed most, dumping a huge charge instead of a steady flow. you need it if: when you're at a stop light, and the begining of brass monkey comes on, and your sub hits so hard it shuts your car off. theunderlord
haha...guess I don't need it then...my amp never clips or shuts itself off←you get light dimmage at all? the basic rule of tumb is 1 Farad of cap, for every 1000W of power...Bing mentions that Caps are just a bandaid however, as the ultimate fix for light dim is a more powerful alternator. prasamin
I know caps are a bandaid, because you're still charging the cap from your alternator, but my dimming lights are not dimming now, and the cap offered a good bandaid fix for it!No intentions of a new alternator right now, so the cap was a good choice....I rarely bump hard, but when I do, the cap is there to provide some charge....
