H+r Vs Stock R Springs

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at replacing the front spring seats and while I'm under there, I am considering replaing the springs and shocks.

My calcluations have it that the H+Rs will lower the car by about 10mm up front and 5mm rear, based on R springs being 20mm lower than standard.

Can anyone confirm this, and if you are running 215/45 17's do you get any rubbing.

Shocks will probably be koni, either yellow or the new FSD's.

oh FYI spring seats in NZ are $91USD EACH. Only available from Volvo dealer <_<

Can anyone confirm that I will get my calculated drop with the H+R's?

The right front sits 8mm lower than the left (assuming a stuffed spring seat 'caus it blimmin noisy!) and that looks quite nice for a ride hight.

I would go straight to KW's but i think they would be too harsh for a daily driver here.

Thanks

Simon

My guess is that KW's would be a better option for comfort at LOW height settings. Don't get me wrong I luv my H&R's, not sure the actual measurements but I can get one finger between fender lip and tire on my fronts with 205/55/16's and 2 or so on the rear. Real scientific eh....YMMV

Thanks for the input guys,

I just ordered the spring seats from fcpgroton <sp?> and they will be landed in NZ with all the required nuts and bolts for the price of 1 spring seat from the NZ dealer!!!!!

I will probably get the KW v3 eventually - based on the current suspension threads going on. - be very interested to see what the koni/HR combo is like compaired to the weitecs <sp?>.
