Swedish Mike
isnt 0w-40 a little too light for gear oil? I've heard people use that, but every other car I've ever changed manual tranny oil, its been 75w-90... I called 5 dealerships to verify... 3 said 75w-90, 1 said ATF (What??????), and the other one didnt know??←Volvo´s books says 0w40, the old Volvo´s used ATF in gearbox and 75w90 in rear axle. The dealerships should know this stuff.../Mike
AnthonyR
I would assume it's the clutch switch that allows the car to start (kinda like the pnp switch) but on a automatic car I doubt there will be a connector for it. Shouldn't really even be necessary to hook it up I wouldn't think.
jroot
Another question: Which should go in first, the master cylinder or the clutch+brake pedal unit ? That's pretty much all I need to do and then put some of the air hoses back together and wire a few things and I'm done.So any idea?
jroot
Oh and one more: Anyone know the deal with wiring the speed sensor to the ABS in a 95 w/ 96 manual tranny?Would like to get that squared away tomorrow too Thanks
AnthonyR
I would put the pedals in first, otherwise the arm that connects from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder will get in the way of things. As for the speed sensor I am not sure. 96 post get it from a speed out on the ABS computer (95 has no speed out on the ABS comp)What I am going to try is tapping off one of the ABS sensors and running it to an S70 cluster I have (that is designed for the single wire ABS speed signal) whereas 95 prior clusters use 2 wires for speed. I already bought the Darn fluid too lol....
