I have XM in my car and I love it! When you say pics of the install, what do you mean? Are you talking about the antenna or the brain? I think the antenna looks lame on the roof, so I just mounted my on top of the dash right up tight to the windshield. I will try to post pics of it later. The sound quality is great and you have so many different types of music to choose from that you are gauranteed to find something you like. I would definatley suggest it!

I have the Kenwood Sirius Unit in my car. I just molded the car kit to the back of a plate and hooked it up via RCA inputs to my Alpine deck. (Can't wait till Alpine gets the Sirius units for their decks, on that same note as an FYI, no deck manufacturers will be offering XM with their decks within the year, they have all switched to Sirius.)

Hi,

I just added XM radio to my 96 850.

I went with the XM commander. The main reason I went with this is because Blitzsafe adapter. It a very clean install. Only one wire to attach to the 12v powre. I mounted the channel selector under the ash tray in the little tray. All the other stuff is hidden under the glove box.

I have no pics but I will try to post some soon.

The Blitzsafe adapter uses the CD plug on the back of the Volvo radio. You don't need a FM modulator. To listen to the XM radio you simply press the CD button on your radio. If you have a changer you simply press it twice once for the changer and twice for XM. (So i am told, i don't have a changer).

The model number for the Blitzsafe I used was Volvo XM/DMX CMD V.1 - CMD = commander. Use DEL for Delphi, but all this interface does it let you use the CD button vs the FM Channel. You still need to do all the other Delphi wiring.

The sound quality is terrific vs using a modulator and having to tune into a bogus FM station.

It is pretty much plug and play. Plug the Blitzsafe into the back of the radio, plug the other end of the Blitzsafe into the back of the commander. You only have to tap one power wire off of the Blitzsafe to the 12V coming out of the radio.

Here are some links that helped me in the process.

This guy installed the Delphi XM. Pretty good instructions. I don't like the delphi its too big and two or more wires, vs. one for the commander. Click his HERE hyperlink.

Here is a volvospeed link to find the power to splice into. I used 4 or 12 on plug A

Here is link to get the glove compartment out to mount it under the glove box like the first guy did.

Hope this helps.
