Jozone
Just noticed Alpine has released Type X (highest line) subwoofers... I hope circuit city or another near by shop stocks them as I'd love to hear them... link
850 GLT
Just out of curiosity, do the type R's actually sound good? The name alone makes me think they must suck but maybe not...
Jozone
friend has them... they sound decent, but I probably wouldnt buy them (for retail price).just curious but where did u buy your eD sub?
Guest bing_0 at work
from what I hear, alpine type X is just another step up the chain in terms of performance alpine style: in other words, above average SPL above average SQ, below average value per dollar but if you can get them significantly below retail, i am sure they are nice subs... as for elemental design, go to www.edesignaudio.com and buy direct off their site, thats how they sell their stuff, I am pretty tight with their chief engineer who designed all the subs, they are very very good subs at very good prices...check them out, duobt you will ever get them to fit with the depths you are thinking though b

The name alone makes me think they must suck but maybe not...I think the Type-R sound pretty good for the price you pay for them. I would rate them sound wise alittle below a JL W3 which are very good subs. I have no complaints with my Type-R.
JPigg34
The Type-X looks like a pretty cool sub. If I had the money, I would buy one and buy a huge amp to go along with it.
AnthonyR
For that price though, I personally would look at the Crystal top line sub or the IDMAX. Both already proven and have similar power handling.
