Nomex is no match for my creme brulee torch!

Ooops. I could be in trouble. I knew nothing about such torches and went online and found this disturbing item (at jlhufford.com):

Description

BonJour's crème brûleé Torch with Fuel Level Indicator has the same great features as the original crème brûleé Torch plus the convenience of a fuel level indicator that shows when it's time to refill. This incredible torch lets you to make restaurant quality desserts at home. It's ideal for caramelizing sugar quickly, without heating the filling below for crème brûleé and tarts.

But this torch isn't just for tasty Crème Brûleés. Use it to brown baked Alaska and other meringue topped desserts, melt and brown cheese on top of onion soup gratinée, glaze fruit tarts and other pastry desserts, heat and melt cheese on top of casseroles and lasagna, brown the tops of roasts for added flavor, blacken tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos then blend together for an authentic salsa, and even blacken the outside of your favorite vegetables for a tasty pizza, salad, or sandwich topping.

You’ll find this well-designed Torch the perfect tool to toast Don Struke’s Nomex as well. Shut that sucka down, is what.
