miniman342
I have two 10 inch Rockford Fosgate punch stage 1 subs that are in truck boxes that I build that I want to put in the 740. I went to lowes to see how much MDF was and it is $20.87 for a 4x8 sheet ( I gotta get an amp wiring kit, first, but am going to get a sheet of MDF). I have confidence in myself that I can build a good box to make the subs sound good, but I always mess up on the dimensions (except maybe these truck boxes). I am going to put this box under the rear deck in the trunk. Does anyone know the dimensions of a good box that I could build out of MDF to hold my subs? Also, what kind of accessories (ports, wire hook ups, etc) should I get? Thanks!
RWagin
THe subs have a specific dimension requirements depending on what type of box you are building, sealed, ported... any paperwork from your subs? You can probably look up the info.

Ported Sucks IMO, and bandpass is only if you want to be heard from 2 miles away.
miniman342
Is it hard to make a bandpass box? or should I just stick with a sealed box? Sorry for all the questions, as I am not the best with installing speakers.

miniman342
Ok. After looking at some bandpasses on crutchfield, I think I will go with a sealed box.

Owned
For your wiring, I would go with Monster Cable if you want high quality stuff. Twisted pair RCA's and gold connectors is what you're after no matter who you go with.If you run into the need for a cap I have two for sale. miniman342
I dont think I will now. I am just running a Sony X-Plod 222 watt amp to the subs. It is alright now, but later on (in a couple of years) I want to upgrade to a better, more powerful system. thanks, though.
