8501995
Hi,The trunk lid on my 850 is crooked. I don't know how it got to be like that because it was already crooked when I got the car. It is not as bad as to let water flow into the trunk, but it just does not look good!I took some pictures to show you how it is. I tried finding some kind of adjustment for the lid level, but I did not see anything that could change the lid orientation.Does anyone know if it is possible?Crooked right side:Nice left side:General view:Thanks for your ideas! Mesoam
looks a bit worse than mine...i think my trunk shifted when some one backed into my tail lense (hit and run)you could try yanking on the trunk w/ it open...i haven't looked it but i wonder if there is horizontal adjustment under the hinges...? 8501995
I don't really like the idea of yanking on the trunk... it could make it worse!I looked near the hinges but I did not see any kind of adjustment...
Bay13
This isn't any help, I know, but mine is kind of like that as well, not as bad but the right(passenger side) has a larger gap than the left. I haven't been upset enough yet to try and figure out whats up. There is a touch up body guy at our shop, if I can remember, I'll ask him what he thinks. BillAileo
I wish I culd figure out how to cut and paste material from VADIS into a posting, anyway, apparently both the hinge and the stricker plate on your trunk can be adjusted. Under the topic "adjusting trunk lid" it describes the two as follows:"Adjust hinges under parcel shelf.Vertically at the front edge and front-rear:Turn adjuster nut (the eccentric in the hinge under the parcel shelf) until the trunk lid is flush with the bodywork.""Vertical and side to side at rear edge:Oval holes in striker plate"It looks like removal of the parcel shlf is necessary to get at the hinge adjustment but that is just a guess, I don't have an 850.Bill

8501995
Thanks for the diagram!I just went and looked at the hinge. Is that "screw" an allen slot, cause it does not really look like it, maybe it is the pain, I'll try and see. Also, the second part of the diagram, where is that located?--EDIT: It is indeed an allen slot, but turning it did not help... I did not try for too long cause it is way too hot in there! The sun has been shining all day, I'll try later!
Bay13
I Know being a tech I should know, but never had to mess with that stuff, I'll be looking at mine in the future. I'm sure there are members that are going to be able to help out. I'd suspect hex or torx on the screw.
