Bay13
I don't know if you know it or not but all the connections for the radio, cd, mini-cd etc. are fiber optics and there is really nothing to connect into.

I want to get at the rear of the radio to install a Ipod adapter to the cd changer inputRegardsSteve←Pry up the cover around the shifter (two spring clips on each side), cover it with a soft cloth to prevent scratching. Remove the two torx screws under the radio stack. Pull the bottom of the entire stack (radio, climate control, and switch plate) down and toward the rear of the car clearing the lip at the top of the stack. You will then be able to move the entire assembly out. Your adaptor cable connects to the connector on the left rear of the radio. If you have the USA-SPEC PA11-VOL you need a software update for it to work with the 1-6 buttons on the radio. Call Judy at (626) 336-3836.For the other poster, I believe the XC90 and S40/V50 are optical, the XC70 is still conventional wiring for the radio.Jack

garbergtsi
on a XC70 it is non most.....remove the trim peice around the shifter and take out the lower 2 T-25 bolts. the whole assembly(radio, climate control, ect) comes out as one peice.but to do an ipod adaptor, you use the DIN wire in the hatch...if its there, if not, you have to run it from the radio back.if you need some help, i can help yah out....i remember you from the DSM days...
