volflo
...reduced co drag significantly. car is also much more stable at high speeds. hi speed bumps on the nordschleife seem less "sweaty hands" than before. i have the feeling of the car "cutting" over the track, everything seem a tad more exact in a way.fuel consumption at 200k dropped by 15% acc to comp...me happy nice looks as well (awesome pic by the way fmpow)
volflo
...edit: that is JC Viggen sitting next to me by the way.he was very pleased with the handling as well, especially since he can compeare the car before/ after.

volflo
quite easy. there is thin polished aluminum plate that civers the froint underbody of the car. from the front spoiler all the way to the wheel housing and between the wheel even a bit further back. up to the height of the drive shafts i would say. at the spt where the oil pan and filter is there is secaond aluminum sheet to protect.the air flow underneath is now a lot less whirly and a lto quicker of course. so there is less upforce. also you a *LOT* more air thru the coolers.so the plate is altogether about a good 15 squarefeet big id say. AutoX47
How much does the plate weigh??←weight isn't as big of deal when it's right where you want it
volflo
...exactly. it is the lowest spot you can possibly get on the cars chassis.and i was aurprised at how good it did in terms of handling, aeroodynamics etc.Next will be to cover the rear underbody from rear axle all way to the end. That should help airflow a lot.
TorqueSteer
So does this mean I should put my radiator splashguard back on? Or is this a different design all together?
Guest DougK
So does this mean I should put my radiator splashguard back on? Or is this a different design all together?←Imagine a flatplate of aluminum that goes from your front lip back over the subframe to the base of the DP or abouts. JCviggen
Oh yes the handling is definately MOST impressive. It doesnt feel like a volvo at all The only thing still letting it down a little in my humble opinion is the tires...there must be better ones out there, but they dont do a bad job still. The speeds and stability into some corners of the NS is just amazing...very well balanced and assured, sharp steering...and definately no body flex Shame i could only join for one lap...had to go early because of some trouble i encountered with my right foot the day before car definately gets faster every time i ride in it But now that the handling is so awesome, it does feel like it could use more power...to really blow everything away
larryo108
Flo. This is awesome man. I never stop being amazed at your car and how you transform it. Truley awesome. I would love to see pictures from the underside. Very curious to see how it was mounted. I am assuming it is bolted in certain locations so that it can be removed. Would love to see it. Tripp Mcnealy
weight isn't as big of deal when it's right where you want it←I definetly know what you mean! I was just wondering b/c I have held some aluminum plates that are the size of a piece of tile, that weigh anywhere from 20-30 lbs..
