Spare Tire Sub

I believe Volvo has a sub tailor-made for the V70 wagon - not sure if it's P1 or P2. It seems like it replaces one of the floor boards. I saw it at the dealership garage sale for about C$300 - it was a used unit. MSRP was about 1 grand.

OEM subwoofer here:

"a closed 10-liter loudspeaker box and a 12-inch loudspeaker element...

installs under the floor in the luggage compartment area and cannot be seen in the vehicle after installation... cannot be installed in conjunction with the Third Row Seat and may require installation of a D-pillar speaker kit."

You guys are correct... the bazookas are pretty ghetto, but I just thought it might be a nice space saving thing if that is a major factor. I have heard that they have fairly good sound too. Very sharp... not too much rumble, so if raw power what your into, then maybe not so good. I don't know... just an idea.

Basslinks are great. My buddy had one in his ML320 a few years back and it rocked. He now has one in his 325 and it still is pretty good BUT because of the trunk and no pass through in the back seats it's a lil quiet.

Installed my moms stock volvo sub today...Bought it for $300. It seriously sounds really good considering that it is factory equipment! Best $300 she ever spent on that car. Plus it is totally hidden!!! Woot. Hits pretty good being a 12 and all too.

Does the factory sub include a seperate amp? Because the stock amp is only 4 channel.

Also, the factory amp is for the P2 v70 right? Cause I didn't see one listed for the P1 cars.

I just saw one of these installed in an '05 V70R. Looked very nice and sounded decent. They are available for the P1 cars and 850's.

Sounds like these are commonly available for half price.

Boomin850, can you get us the part number off your Mom's?

Wondering if one can duplicate the OEM version with

aftermarket?
