Slater
Sounds like these are commonly available for half price.Boomin850, can you get us the part number off your Mom's?Wondering if one can duplicate the OEM version with aftermarket?←Well, the issue I have is still how they are driven. Does the stock amp drive it? And if so does it disable the rear door speakers? Or is there a 5 or 6 channel amp installed when the sub option is chosen? I would think so with the ridiculous $600+ price tag.
Boomin850
-The part # is 9496435-There is a totally seperate amp that comes with it. Think about it...it's like every other powered sub.-It's a dual voice coil-It connects to the rear pillar speakers in the V70's but does not dissable them-I really don't think that it will work in an 850-It's expensive because it's volvo made and is totally fit for the carHope that answers all your guys questions-MIKE D

I thought the stock speakers had crossovers? If so, that means the signal was already a high bandpass right?

The harness is simple tho. You have the power, ground, remote turn on, and then two sets of clips. Each clip plugs into the exhisting male end of the speaker and the other plugs into the female completing the circuit so that everything runs smoothly. Hope that helps.-MIKE D

And can you see the sub from the outside of the car? What about putting stuff in the back of the wagon - is there a grille or something that goes over the sub for protection? You don't loose your spare...it all fits fine. You cant see the sub because it is still underneath everything. No need for any other protection -MIKE D

Slater
Here this is even better. LOL-MIKE D←I wonder if it's downfiring and the sound comes through that grille portion? Two more questions. The stock wagon has those 2 "doors" in the floor of the back. Does this replace 1 of the doors or something? Also, what if you have one of the all-weather accesory cargo mats (the heavy rubber ones that cover your whole cargo area). Doesn't sound like you would be able to keep that and hear the sub at all??

Mike H.
Volvo webpage says it's a 12 in sub not a 10.As far as I know there are no installation instructions. Plug in the subwoofer, download a VADIS update and there you go.Boomin - Looking forward to hearing the system on Saturday as I'm planning on getting one for the R. Boomin850
Ok time to answer questions once again.=The sub is not downfiring at all...the basket fits into the spare tire...thats why everything fits so well.=I don't know if it replaces either of the two cargo door things but the guy my mom bought it from gave us the whole shebang a bang=It's a 12" that does plug into both D pillar speakers for its signals...thats why I think its dual voice coil, but mebe iamadumbass=The car will be at the Socal meet! So everyone car here it and figure out whether or not it would be worth $300 to them=Part #9496435-MIKE D
