burchs1
Hi,Today I received Clarion's Ipod interface for their CeNet Bus. I installed my Clarion head unit in 1999, but at the time I did not wire the CeNet power lead. Checking my documentation it says the bus power must come directly from the battery. Currently I do not have an amplifier, but that will definitely change in the future. The same is mentioned for the memory power lead (but this lead integrates directly with the factory wiring harness). I assume it is best to wire the bus to the battery since the bus powers external cd changers, etc. In my case the bus will simply be powering the ipod interface and the ipod. I am no car audio expert, so what do I need to do this:I assume:1) A cable to run to the battery and a fuse at the battery...the cenet bus power wire on the head unit has a 3 Amp fuse2) Any suggestions on wire gauge, clamps for the battery? The gauge of the bus power wire is very small.Anything else I am missing. I comletely forgot the bus power wire was not connected...Another thought I had was simply to tap another 12v lead to power the bus (is this a bad idea?)Thanks,Scott
burchs1
Never mind. I remembered there were a couple of fuse taps in my fuse box. I tapped the rear seat heater fuse and connected that to the CeNET power...life is good!
