MadeInJapan
So is the evap what would cause the system to go dry ? my friends 855 has no freeon in it and befor i go pulling the dash i want to make sure that is the prob??Thanks PatPat, if no gas at all, you'll have to at least put some in 'er to be able to check where the leak is. I recommend you buying a couple of cans of R-134A with leak-detector in it (By all means, don't buy the self sealing gook that they also try to sell in the gas). This will cost you less than $20 if you already have the fill hose. If you need to buy a hose, then still less than $30 total from your local autoparts store. Anyway, after you fill it up let the A/C run for awhile (even if not cold) and then take a black light from under the car and search for leaks. The Evaporator is hard to diagnose, because it's way up in under the dash. You'll probably need a small black light on the end of a stick to get up in the crevices from underneath. You might be pleasantly surprised and the leak be somewhere else, but I doubt it. In the above manner you'll at least be able to know for sure if you're in for the Evap. change and $30 or less will be well worth it in my humble opinion. Jesus
Nice, just found out a couple days ago that I need this job done on my S70. Any recomendations on where to buy all the associated bits? I'm guessing FCP, but haven't called them yet.Luckily I know an awesome Volvo dealer tech who'll take care of my evap and my broken dash mounts.I am paying $1350 for it right now.and feeling luckier by the second.
