SkyWriter
Hi, I haven't been a gearhead in 25 years so.... I'm trying to get back into the swing. I've bought my 5th volvo; a 2001 S80 T6, and I'm getting an IPD ECU kit installed in a couple of weeks. this part is pretty straight forward. However, I'm also looking into an N02 system for it but the modern nomenclature is a bit baffling i think I want an 50 shot WOT wet system, but i can't find a volvo parts vendor. most kits i've found are, of course, car model specific but none are mine. i've read a great deal of success here on the board today, and was wondering where i could get some of the popular kits like Nitrous Xpress for instance. I'm having my Volvo (non dealer) shop do it so in the end they'rell probably do a lot of the part recommendations, but i would still like to educate myself, as well as do some preliminary budgeting. Thanks for any assistance, glad i found this board!
RWagin
Any other upgrades planned? Never heard of anyone with NOS on an S80. I'm sure it can be done but you will likely be doing something custom. VMS may be of some help.http://www.volvomotorsports.com/volvo1/

BTW welcome to the board

ROB @ VMS
All you need is nx efi kit. It will work fine on your car. All systems are installed pretty much the same. Tap into fuel line or rail for fuel and then the nitrous comes from the bottle and both run to a solenoid then to the nozzel. Then a Tps and window switch are often what will trigger the system. TorqueSteer
I will be installing a NX wet kit on my 850 within the next week or so, with a WOT switch and the MSD Digital Window Switch, if you have any questions, feel free to PM and I will do my best to help you out. TorqueSteer
Its in a nitrous thread, so naturally I have another nitrous question of my own I know this would cost a nice sum of $$$$$$, but to further safeguard the car, has this been done before: Instead of tapping fuel off the cars main fuel system, can I place a fuel cell in the car and fill it up with high octane race fuel, attach a fuel pump and lines and connect that directly to the fuel solenoid? Therefore when I spray, It will not place load on the cars fuel system, and higher octane fuel will prevent detonation while spraying. What do you guys think and how much would this endeavour cost? Thanks

Well right up to that point your engine explodes.
Guest DougK
A couple Q's:1. His s80 being an ETB car will require that a simple lever/rocker switch be placed on the gas pedal instead of @ the TB2. Since it is an ETB, how safe is it if the ECU decides to suddenly alter throttle/fueling while on the squeeze? I'd imagine that since a wetshot is rendering (roughly) equal amounts of fuel and NO2 then it *should* be ok.3. Think the S80 transmission will hold up to a Chip + NOS? Hmmm ;)
TorqueSteer
The electronic throttle body does worry me as well, but I have seen a number of ETB sprayed cars, IS300's, G35's and so on, and they seem to do just fine.

The T6 is a torque monster for a FWD platform.
