SkyWriter
*excuse some spelling gramatic's it;s been a long day travelingall good points Doug, and my mechic and I are giveng them serious consideration !1) true. however those are bound to go out of 'calibration' unexpectatly; a NOS system isn't something i would like to have to calibrate often. solution maybe merely the pedle switch wit a madmax enable switch this electioninc that prevent the switchfrom blowing NOS duriing WOT, only the other way with around enabled WOT can activate the system. should make it less prone to poor operator error.we have and urban/suburban interstate system that i generaly'll too crowded for caprecious use of the system. this NOS should be design to work under there considerations.2) this is a a consideration i can't predict. one solution maybe to talk to the ECU programmer. i picked IPD as they have z preexisting relationship with my mechinanic. this mostly translates to good relations, and minimized overroad/garage time; my most precious commodity. 3) ah, yes the most serious considerstion, no sense blowing up the tranny , at least too much, if the is an alternative, the T6 already has a beefy torque range so mybe there's design magin enough to use a viable stock solution. any easy fixes come to mind. it's only a 50 shot, not 200 got back from my vacation today, naturally i had to pick th e card up on the towncar ride home shift/rpm changes all different. thid new ECU really made a difference, no AFR or exahust manifold measurements, etc... just pure subject tive fund. jumped out on thr highway, and could feel the acceleration at work very little lsg ith the stock ECU. high end RPM was exspeciallyl responsive passing. with the vacation traffic i couldn't act irresponsible, but the feeling no no topend was very prominant dusting some BMW didn't heurt either the camaros were just for fun, hehe. soi would highly recommend an ECU upgrade is you'r sticking to 3k checkups and 93 octane fual anyway next will be anyway bars, shocks/struts, got aluminium wheels, wondows if wider tirers list the 60's of the musclcars useful tofday? wonce the car is stable at high speddy and fact accelerations NOS goes if. unless i would get a big jimmer blower instaead of the dual turbos, buti dont' see why.i hear the logic behind the punching the stock configurtion to far. but if i can find parts that will extent the capability of the stock part config to accomodate more radical change fair enough. this the car i've selected as 'my baby'one other thing. i've got working GPS system: and HP bluetooh GPS and iPAQ H3450. makes an excellent for my wife and i, i get the map, and she gets the directions. i was wondering if i wanted to put one spooky gauge on the hood; whta measuremewnt would i not want to have to take my eyes very far offe the rood to look at be invaluable for a dujal turo/ECU/NOS sleeper. or an i really defeating the purpose.Darn i can't tell you how much fun it;s been tiday A couple Q's:1. His s80 being an ETB car will require that a simple lever/rocker switch be placed on the gas pedal instead of @ the TB2. Since it is an ETB, how safe is it if the ECU decides to suddenly alter throttle/fueling while on the squeeze? I'd imagine that since a wetshot is rendering (roughly) equal amounts of fuel and NO2 then it *should* be ok.3. Think the S80 transmission will hold up to a Chip + NOS? Hmmm ←

SkyWriter
thanks for the quick reply JHE! ETB sounds like a good idea man it was easier back beforem computers, and emission controls. Thanks! You'll be fine. 550
what do you mean the ETB sounds like a good idea? The electronic throttle body is crap :-\Do you mean watching it is a good idea?
JHEIII874T5M
well, there's no real way to watch it. What I am curious of, let's say you put a TPS monitor on it, when the ETB goes downhill does it throw off the voltage readings or what?
550
I guess it depends on how they fail... It may have the same voltages but it may just not function the same so everything seems to work but isn't, but don't quote me on that
the underlørd
ouch, 2001 S80? you'll want to start scrounging for replacement tranny's now.
SkyWriter
ouch, 2001 S80? you'll want to start scrounging for replacement tranny's now.yeah i know. the chip is gosh fast as it is, maybe i'll back down to 35 SHOT. or fill the shed with trannyies either way i haven't had this much fun since i had my GTO anyway to beef up the tranny to take a once in a while beating? SkyWriter
I wouldnt do it. Way more stuff to go wrong, and its just not needed. Just make sure your fuel pump and lines are up to the job and you will be fine. Well right up to that point your engine explodes.←A couple Q's:1. Just keep an eye on the ETB.←just don't do this look forward to seeing some results!←just don't do this *massive damage* the T6 was my first FWD car; i wasn't aware of the traction fight under high torque conditions. the car has a traction slip compensation made for snow and conditions, of course still oscillates between tires on WOT from and a dead stop or low mph on clean tar. over 30 it's fine. i'll be getting anti-sway bars, front and back. hype from IPD says ECU programming helps to control transaction compensation. and a high performance shocks the bars show take the bart out of it (although is does run nice as is). there's a little lag lead footing without downshifting, but take a little practice. if i fix this so-called tranny defficiency, and can enjoy the sound systenm, and GPS etc, the time to clean up the little interior bits. the dash is so nice, i hate to mar it with dials (or especially takemy eye's of the road). looking for the best gague can mount on the hood to evince trepidation and stilll tell me when it's going to blow the car up. so far we're IPD chippeded great.and bluetooth iPAQ GS systemanti-sways working to go ini've got a decades long volvo mechanic for reliability, and a gear head that does NOS, so i can't go too wrong.if anyone has ideas on beefing up the tanny i'm all ears (wallet )excuse the spelling its; a long day.... by the way how do most people use NOS; popping a shot each gear shift, or pop a shot a shift through it all. i only intend on enqaging it on my topend. does the doom and gloom make much different now? ROB @ VMS
I will have a full write up for the Nx system in the next week or two. I will be testing 35,50,75 hp shots. The wet system would be the best to go unless you have a system where you can increase the injector duty when nitrous is activated. Look to gain 100hp on nitrous from 4000-7600 rpm
