yangotang
Dino oil (non-synthetic) should be fine. Any brand should do it, but I use Mobil 10W30.You will need to replace a crush ring between the oil drain plug and the oil pan, as well as a filter.Steps (roughly):Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.Remove oil filter and drain.Place a new oil filter on, remembering to place a bit of oil over the rubber seal.Place the new crush washer on the drain plug.Refill oil. StickThatClutch
Remember that the 99+ cars use a replacable filter element and not a standard oil filter can. Becareful removing the casing. Make sure the o-ring sets properly or you will have oil drip city.
Bay13
you will need a special filter wrench to get the cartridge that holds the filter off. http://www.ipdusa.com has the filter wrench for sale. Make sure that when you buy the filter cartridge that there is a new O ring in there as well, it's for the filter cartridge.

bnea17
Yah i was told about the oil change so i had to double check. How much are the special filters. Can anyone show me a pic of it? My dad said he bought a filter already but i told him it was the wrong one because he got a standard one and he said it dosent matter what you use. I live in downtwon Sac. Hey if you got time maybe we can meet up sometime.I just came back from Autozone and i got an oil filter made by firm 7328. Any remarks on this product? They told me to use 10 40 motor oil for the miles that i have in the car and the heat thats in sacramento. I also asked the guy about an o ring but he said its not needed because there is protector on the filter already. Should i just get the o ring from the volvo dealer anyways? It measures 15/16" outer and 11/16" inner diameter if you want to get it at your local auto part store.
