Do All S60awds Have Nivomats?

Just like the title says. I am wondering if all the S60 AWDs have the Nivomat/Self Leveling shocks. I am considering the S60AWD as a possible replacement for the R and want to know my options when it comes to suspension mods.

dont get an AWD, use the money and buy the t5. we have an AWD and we get all sorts of odd noises from the rear end even after takin it to the stealership and an inde volvo shop and havin em look at it. plus the AWD isnt worth it just because it isnt REAL AWD.

oh its a 2002 by the way

As far as I know - 2001 has nivomat and later ones don't.

I have been lead to believe that the 2002 S60 AWD's had Nivomat shocks, but I am not certain. Maybe StickThatClutch can confirm that the first year S60 AWD's *did* have Nivomat.

After 02 I am reasonably certain that the only S60's equipped with Nivomat were the limos. Volvo seemed to decide it wasn't a neccessity on any of the sedans, even though Ford's using it now on the 500. The wagons all use it, though.

Disclaimer: I've been wrong before.

That means if I get a 2002 or a 2003 , I could probably get the Bilsteins .
2002+ has the redesigned ETM as well. More incentive!

There were no 2001 S60 AWD's, anyway, it was introduced in 2002.

Yeah another note. 2004+ AWD have haldex.

All S60 AWD's have Haldex. Haldex was introduced to Volvo on the S60 AWD in 2002.

You're right about the XC.

Volvo/Haldex Timeline:

2002 - S60 AWD is first Volvo to have Haldex LSC.

2003 - S80 AWD, V70 AWD and XC70 get Haldex LSC.

2004 - XC90, S40, V50 AWD models introduced with Haldex LSC.

2005 - XC90 V8 model intorduced with Haldex LSC w/ Pre-X.
