RWagin
things wrong with it, 1. it's a automatic←One could argue the same with our vehicles.I've heard that the V8's are fairly reliable, but the source is questionableThis is probably a better option:http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=26425

javadoc
One of the partners in the firm used to have one. He's had some interesting Audis apparently (RS2, S8). Anyway, I asked him what he thought of his S6 and he said, "That car was the biggest piece of stuff that I ever bought. It spent more time in the shop than on the road."HTH. EMDII
2 things wrong with it, 1. it's a automatic2. it's a audi←Wrong on both counts (nothing wrong w/ either Audi or auto).I have an 855 Turbo Wagon, and auto is nice. The S6 Avant has a VERY sophisticated tranny, smooth as silk compared to the normal Volvo's. In addition, I've owned 4 Audis (TT right now). Loved them all, and they are a great all-around. The Avant is a hammer disguised as a tape measure. I wouldn't jump an Avant in the fast lane, and a good one would make me work in the twisties.I have two friends who both currently own an A6, and one who owns an Avant. None have reported srious problems. A good shop makes a difference, and ours is actually excellent, nearly 'euro-class' in quality and attitude.
