Complete Directional Failure!

As some of you may have read before, I was having an issue with intermittent loss of ALL right sided directional signals in my V70R. Sometimes they would work (all bulbs) and then would completely fail, giving me a fast flash and a bulb out indication.

I took the car to Kline Volvo in Maplewood, MN where they CLAIMED to fix it by replacing a front right turn signal socket. The problem promptly returned and is now seemingly permanent/persistent. I reassessed their socket and all the right bulbs and all look good (recall that the hazard flashers wouldn't make the right flash either)

Now I'm in the midst of a long drive from Minneapolis to Tucson (my new home) and during the drive today, the LEFT turn signals completely fail as well. So now there is no way to get ANY directional (front, side or rear) to flash at all!!!!!!

I've checked for a set of fuses that may be responsible, but cannot find any that should do this. I find this to be bad for such a drive and maybe even dangerous (given my speeds!)

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem or where the source of the problem may be? It isn't in the turn stalk clearly, as I get the indicator in the dash. Are there any fuses that run between? I seems NO power is getting from the dash flasher ANYWHERE near the bulbs.

Depends on what year the car is. If it's a 2001, I'd try disconnecting the battery (ground side) for 10 minutes, then before you put it back on the negative terminal, touch it to the positive terminal, then connect it to the negative battery terminal. If you have a 2001 or later this should work, until you get where you are going. Then you will more than likely need a new steering wheel module.

Well if it was intermittent and now it is permanet sounds like they may have been on to something in the RF? Perhaps it's in the connector and not the socket? If they bought a new OEM lamp it should have come with a new socket and bulb?.....just my thoughts ;)
