medicT5
On an S70 there is a flashing red light in the middle of my dash right where the windshield meets the dash. I was told that this was similar to a lo-jack system that Volvo put in from the factory, but since I didn't buy from a Volvo dealer I'm not sure if that is true......does anyone know what this is ?
javadoc
I have one of those on my '96. As far as I know, it's factory, and it blinks whenever the doors are locked.
V70-AAAHHHRRR
It's the stock Alarm-On indicator. Lock your door, either with the key or the remote, and the alarm is activated and the light starts flashing to let others know the car is alarmed. Unlock with the key or remote, and you disable the alarm. Thus, the light stops flashing. It's all tied in to the Imobilizer (chip) inside your car key, which is read by a transponder in the ignition and which prevents the car from starting via any key not specifically coded for the system. It's all in the owner's manual. I'll fax you the pages if you didn't get the manual with the car.-KB

V70-AAAHHHRRR
Actually, not to rescind my fax offer, but you can always go to Volvo's site and download the owner's manual....http://www.volvocars.us/_Tier2/Owners/Library.htm-KB
