JCviggen
Only took the Swedes a month to ship it (nice of them to take a completely unannounced holiday) but it got here a few days agoIt ended up being somewhat expensive for what I consider to be just a bloody air filter, but I really like the heatshield design and it works very well from what i've seen. Then there's the sound...holy cr*p! I was expecting more but this is almost silly. At half throttle the sound of it sucking in air is already intimidating but when letting go of the throttle the car does nothing short of a Darth Vader impression The blow off sound seems every bit as loud to me as it is on Florian's car with the same filter. The sound is also a lot "deeper" than stock, I do like that, its not high pitched anymore.I'm actually wondering if it isnt too loud sometimes. The sound is great when shifting on the power but its really all present on every shift unless i'm going really slow.I guess I'll get used to it But i definately dont see any point for a BOV on these cars when you're looking for more sound, this filter already scares small children into the trees with a CBV

slarti
Do you feel that it is more responsive than with the drop-in filter?
JCviggen
Do you feel that it is more responsive than with the drop-in filter?←No I cant feel much difference. But at these power levels I dont think your butt can detect 2 HP or so, which is the max i'd expect from a filter in an ideal scenario. I dont consider it a HP adder. That said, my 80-120 kmh acceleration did somehow improve from ~3.8s to ~3.65s so maybe it is helping a little in response. But I just cant tell objectively. I bought it for sound mostly
viperman135
What did you end up doing with the CBV pipe that goes to the stock airfilter box?
JCviggen
What did you end up doing with the CBV pipe that goes to the stock airfilter box?←Nothing at all, it attaches behind the MAF obviously so it was not affected at all with the mods in front of the MAF :)
