GShyneDM
Where did you get that strut bar??? its kinds cool looking←Ipd... its their CHerry Turbo brace that they offer.its good, but if I had mroe cash, i'd switch to a OEM or OMP one... Its not easy to remove when you need to remove the turbo pipes or whatnot in the back of the engine bay

lax01
after looking at the EGR system for about 3 hours today, I took a few pics so for those that still don't know what we are talking about...you will be able to see what it is...completely
RLN THDR
this is pure propaganda straight from the manufacturer. this cant be right, as it is a conspiracy http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h61.pdf :o
EricF
Hm, maybe Slater ought to get an EGT on his car as well to see if combustion temps are still higher even if intake temps are not?
ziddey
Well to my knowledge, by bringing in exhaust through the intake, it dilutes the air by reducing the percent of oxygen. So then there's less to burn, and so exhaust temps drop. But power drops too. I thought that's why?
RLN THDR
power does not drop, as the knock is lessened the timing is incresed.
crc1185
Is it possible to disable the egr with a remap/chip or is it necessary for the entire ecu to be swapped? Example - when I get say a speedtuning chip, can I use the chip designed for the 96 model and disable the egr?

Johann
Funny..Our Volvo do not come with the EGR system.I have various exhaust manifold here and none of them had the EGR connection on them. There are 3 or 4 different versions of manifolds with the high cylinder 1 and the R manifold of course. After removing the engine from my Police spec S70T5, registered 5-2001 but factory ready at 11-'99 according the VIN info, I noticed that this car does have an EGR connection on the manifold.I do not have any information about if this manifold has been changed during it's 167K mile Plice career though. The manifold was cracked so I assume it has been there for it's lifetime.
