V70 Rear Bumper Protector

OK, I wanted to give an update on this.

The part from myswedishparts.com is NOT the correct part. I thought $29 sounded a little cheap for something that is $80-something list and $77 from FCPGroton. I was laughing at FCP saying I got it from myswedishparts for $29. However, the joke was on me.

I received this tiny little box from myswedishparts. In it was a piece of CLEAR TAPE just like the site says. It's the clear "paint protection" 3M film that is commonly used on hoods and other parts of the car to protect the paint. Now, if that is what you want then it will work fine. $30 isn't that bad of a price as it's already die-cut to the exact size and shape, and it comes with a squeegee to make applying it cake.

However, since the top of my bumper has chunks missing and is all chipped up, I needed the COVER from the XC, as seen in the original pic I posted. So now I am back to ordering the original XC part from FCPGroton.

With that said, if you have a nice painted bumper and it is in good shape, I would recommend the $20 clear tape as it will look very clean and subtle and you shouldn't even be able to tell it's there. If I ever get the rear bumper repainted, this is what I will put on. However, if the top of your bumper is trashed like mine, and you want to protect it from getting more trashed, then I recommend the XC bumper protector for $80.

I thought that might be the case. I'm really sorry I posted the wrong info for you Slater. However, please post pictures of the cover once you get it applied. I am seriosly considering this. Thanks.

Which cover? The clear tape or the cover I posted on the first pic?

If so, here is a pic of the part on question:

The only difference is that this pic is of a black V70R (which I assume the cover came on stock) and I have a black 850 T-5R (which did not have the cover stock).

Should give you an idea as to what you need to see.
