VolvoTD
I am lloking for some advice. I have 2 Resonant Engineering SE 12" subs http://www.reaudio.com/ and am looking for 1000+ watt amp that does better sound quality over power. I hear that JBL Alpine or Orion does good amps but am wondering what other people use to power their subs? Has anyone had to upgrade their alternator for an audio install or get an extra batterie? or can i just replace existing battarie with a better one?I was thinking of installing them in my spare tire well of my 850GLT and deadening the trunk, any 850 owner tryed this spot for their subs? or any car for that matter? Thanks inadvance for the help! it all helps me become less of a audio newbie!JohnnyA. Owned
A 220 amp alt wouldn't hurt, but it's a little bit over kill for just 1,000 watts. I think I'm the only one here running one that big or that who needs to. When you go past 200, check to make sure everything can handle it. For instance, I run an Alumapro 5F so I can't use the stock relay they ship with.A 34/78 yellow with a 1 farad cap would be good enough. If your alt is old/weak a fresh one would certainly be a good idea. You don't really need a secondary battery with this small of a system either, unless you want it for looks. As far as amps go, right now I'm using Audiobahn simply for the looks and the fact that they can tank some pretty high volts. They also have a fairly nice amount of output which, helps to keep me burping decent numbers. Planet Audio wouldn't be a bad choice for your amps. Planet is nice bang for the buck stuff. The amps aren't needlessly big or flashy like my Audiobahns, which seems like it would be about what you're looking for. Here's their site: http://www.planetaudiousa.com/home/By the way, those RE subs remind me of some crossfire 12's.http://www.crossfirecaraudio.com/productsM...t=20&SubCat=17#Bottom left.
