R Bumper Fog Light Replacement

Is there a link to replace the fog lights (stock) my drivers side light went out and I was curious how in depth replacement would be, planning to use the same bulbs Carson did in his R.

I haven't even taken the time to look at the light and wanted to get an idea of what I should expect, will the bulbs be a direct fit?

Thanks exexpat: Manufacturer: PIAA Item #: PI.13555

replace the bulbs?  H3 bulbs.. take the old ones out, and put the new ones in?

am i missing something?

I haven't been under the car to take a look at the housing on the fog light, fantastic to hear that is a piece of cake. I ordered the bulbs changed my mind and went with white bulbs.

:( Sorry to hear that you are going with the white bulbs, but at least I can be original for a bit longer (at least in the 850 territory that is B)).

On the 850 foglights (at least 95+ T-5R/R/Round design in the bumper), there is just a plastic cap on the back that you twist counter-clockwise (If I Recall Correctly) to get it off. The foglight is held into the housing by a little clip, it will come out and the wires are attached to the cap. Undo those wires, plus in the new ones, put the new bulb into the housing and clip it in. Now, important thing: be careful with the extra wiring on your foglight bulbs as it could get caught in the cap as you're re-attaching that. I wasn't careful enough when I was re-attaching it and pinched the wire a little so it was shorting out on the housing. I just needed to wrap it in electical tape and it's all better, just be careful when re-attaching those caps :)

Carson, Thanks for the play by play.  Regarding the extra wire on the bulbs, can we just remove it if it is just hanging there?

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean... You cannot remove any of the wiring from the H3 bulbs, as they won't work after you trim them

It's not a big thing, just be careful with how you tuck the slack into the housing. I tucked it in too quickly and messed the wiring a little :) Also, be careful on the passenger side as there is a plastic piece that hangs down very close to the foglight cap. The cap will come off, it just takes a little shimming and patience.

How did the bulb swap go, or are you still waiting for the bulbs?
