volvoamg
Hey everyone. Finally got my mom to accept tinting, but she (and I), don't want much. Can anyone show me some tint anywhere from 50% and up? I think that's around the right range, anyone got some pics?
Ivanfbi
lol, i think the highest people go is like 35%, which is really light tint. 50% tint won't be even noticable, i even think that stock tint on the windows is around that much. go 35% and it will be best for you. by the way, do you still ask your mom what to do with your car? Socal
The guy I had do mine offered 50% I think. I saw them putting it on a brand spanking new Mercedes. It looked kind of cool, it was a lite silvery-gray. They had llumar and someother less expensive film, but I'm not sure which brand they were putting on. Either way, I would be sure to get high quality film for tinting that light. Don't wan't it going to a lite purple do you? ;)

red854turbo
Mine is 35%...Looks darker in my sig yo!
Veneficus
You also have to keep in mind that a darker interior will make a dark tint look much darker where as a tan interior will make tint look lighter.
Serge
I think 50% will be pretty much un-noticible.
Ivanfbi
I think 50% will be pretty much un-noticible.←thats what i saidalso tint becomes purple, not because of quality of film, but what liquid you use, if you use windex, it will go purple, there is some stuff that gives blue shade...most shops use other stuff like simple water and soap mix
volvoamg
SO maybe 35% will be good. I have a grey interior, it's pretty light in there. I almost like how some amg mercedes have that slightly bluish tint on them that isn't dark. And yes, I do ask my mom IF I can do something to the car, because it is HER car. If it was actually my car, there would be no question about it, but it's not quite like that. She bought it, I don't take it to college, she drives it after, I kinda have to do what she says (she does pay the insurance). I think she said I could lower it though.... Can anyone show me some tint anywhere from 50% and up? I think that's around the right range, anyone got some pics?←Why do you want tint? The reason I ask is because if you want to reduce heat then you will need a specialized film that can reject a high amount of heat and still be light enough for mom. Most 50% films will only reject 35-40% of the solar energy but there are a couple of special ones that can do 55% and they are pretty light too.If you just want a little color on your glass then 50% will be too light. Try 40% or 35%
volvoamg
Veneficus, is that an air suspension on an S80?How much does something like that cost for parts and installation? That would be sick
Veneficus
Veneficus, is that an air suspension on an S80?How much does something like that cost for parts and installation? That would be sick←Yes, that is an air suspension kit. Something like this setup will run around $2k before your install. Because this owner has a quite large air tank, hes using 2 air pumps to supply the tank. Also, the 20" rims are going to set you back a pretty penny and you have to cut out your tire wells to make them fit which means they need to be sprayed with a rust proof coating. I did an airbag install on an AUDI A4 before and that took us about 2 full days of work to complete (that includes removal of the old shocks, installation of the air compression drums, running vacuum lines for the drums, installing the air pumps and tank, running a whole load of wiring, relocating the battery and then finally realinging the suspension. Sadly about 1 month after that was done the tranny gave way in the thing and its still waiting to get the new one dropped into it.
