mlanctot
Wife's car has clunking sound from the front end when traveling on rough roads. I suspect it to be strut bushings. Any thoughts on best way to repair.
MrWinkey
It's more than likely the spring perch(rubber mount ) on the strut. But the cheapest and easiest thing to do first would be the sway bar endlinks.
Bay13
Agree ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^you can check the top strut mount, with a good flash light, look in the top of the strut, and bounce the car, while looking at the mount, if it's broke you can usually see it.The link rods are fairly easy to check as well, lay on the ground beside the front tire, legs facing forward, and reach in and grab ahold of the sway bar where the link rod attaches, now have someone bounce the car on that side, if the link rod is the problem you will feel the cluncking/looseness.
