nick S60 R
Just order my s60r as some of you might know. Was thinking about getting a upgraded chip for the car and a down pipe. But was wonder what does the chip exactly do? Also whats the effiency of the turbo. How far can I take the stock turbo untill its just blowing hot air, basically what psi is the turbo out of its effiency psi. Also how well does the stock by pass valve work. What size is the turbo on the R. Thank you for all you help guys. :D

If your going to go above and beyond you should look into a hybrid turbo. The chip, depending on which one, is basically going to remove some limiters and raise the boost. Stock CBV will be more than enough for the volume you will be flowing

Bascially i believe the R pushes out about 17psi from factory. So the chip might raise it to mabye 21psi?????????? Also if i get EBC how far can i push the turbo and the engine. JCviggen
Also if i get EBC how far can i push the turbo and the engine.←Dont get an EBC. Its a) not necessary and looking from trouble on ME 7A chip will take care of everything.
Che'_Moderator
EBC is ok, just not with the OEM ECU. I think what he needs to do if givure out how much power he wants along with how much of a warrenty he wants.

The ECU their not going to like either but its a lot harder to spot.
Texas850Turbo
Take a look at swedespeed's R forum. They have tons more stuff on S60Rs than Volvospeed, just as Volvospeed has tons more stuff on 850s than Swedespeed.

They just throw money and custom floor mats at the car and hope it goes faster,

There are several companies out there w/ products made for the S60R. You may want to look at the TME cat-back exhaust system for a few ponies. Also, keep an eye on the proress of Chuck's S60R project car. From the previews we've been shown, it will re-define "fast" .

Reading the comments I think the Engstrom/BSR PPC is the solution. It gives the car a bit more push and a very nice throttle feel. It isn't the solution for flat out performance but it suits the need given the warranty thought.
