jross
Looks good to me. I'm guessing it's ionizing the air around it, but the physicist within looks at that and says "nope, not possible", so whatever. Maybe it's just because their description is stuff... jross
Seriously, just get the South African flamethrower setup under the car. Not only is it more effective & proven to work, you can use it in normal, everyday situations. You can't taze the ricer next to you revving his stock, unboosted POS car with a fart can, but with the S.A. flamethrower, you can give him a "warm reception". Not to mention the fun that can be had at schools and the like. Just remember: napalm sticks to kids!
mynessas40
I'm sorry, but 220 volts is bad enough, and 1,000 volts tame animals. And in Jurassic Park, 10,000 volts held Dinosaurs away from the fence. So I don't know about 50,000 volts

So I don't know about 50,000 voltsSure 50,000 volts is a big number, but my understanding is the imortant number in this case is amperage. I looked up the spec sheet and they did'nt disclose that number. Probably because 50,000 Volts!sounds better than 7 Amps!. To be honest I'm not even sure if 7 amps is lethal. I suppose it could be if it was 7amps of 50,000 Volts!
Chris_R
ONE (properly adminstered) amp is lethal to humans. Volts just hurt like hell. -Chris
jross
Yea, the human body really can't hold up to amperage. I think that several milliamps can be lethal, if you're not careful, but you'd need to be exposed for a second or two I think (your blood and body work like a variable strength resistor, and the resistance breaks down pretty quickly under exposure to current). We've got power supplies in the lab that go up to a couple thousand volts, and I know those are pretty dangerous / can be lethal, and they're 10kV max, 50kV... well, that's getting up there. Just for reference, the lines coming out of the nuclear reactors where I work are ~ 500kV, I'd be inclined to take this anti-theft device's claims with a grain of salt...
