SlowV Posted August 28, 2005 Report Share Posted August 28, 2005 I sort of fowled the changes of company's way back when that was happening . If memmory serves me corrrectly . GMC wanted to part company with the big truck division , White was willing to buy at a slow change over Hence the White /GMC .... Volvo wound up in some capacity with that plan a few years latter wound up being the major player and the White / GMC was dropped . Not sure but could be how Volvo got into the Large truck industry in the US with out having to go through the growing pains of establishing itself from square one . Since Peterbuilt and Kenworth , MACK , and a few others were already established and had dye in the wool followers , much like how a lot of the folks here really don't want to try anything else other than a different model Volvo : ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
