bbrukx
I just imported a 2004 Volvo XC90 from the US to Europe. Here in Europe, FM broadcast are both on even (i.e. 96.8Mhz) as well as odd frequencies (i.e. 94.1Mhz). In the US the broadcasts are only on odd frequencies, so the radio only receives the odd broadcasts here. Does anybody know how I can change the settings of my XC90 radio, so that it will receive the even frequencies as well? Thanks,Bas
550
Look in your manual, I know there is a way. For example in my car (sc-816 radio) if you hold down the 5 button for 5 seconds it switches over to euro tuning, my guess is your radio is quite similair, good luck. Guest Guest_bbrukx
Thanks Joe.I tried the 5 seconds for all numbers, did not work. I also looked in the manual, no info. I have a call into Volvo Netherlands, see if they will reveal the magic trick. If anybody knows before then...
matt1122
Just curious, why import from the US? Good luck w/ your radio.
bbrukx
I moved from the US to the Netherlands and was able to take the car with me import duty-free. Cars are a lot cheaper in the US, taxes on new cars in Europe can be as high as 50-60% (compare that to 3% in VA).Still no luck on the radio... bbrukx
Just talked to Volvo Netherlands. They told me it's not an easy solution, the software version for the car has to be comaptible with the software for the radio etc. etc. I have to go to the dealer and get a full read of installed software and equipement and they will send it on to Sweden for advice... It is an entirely different radio than the SC 8xx series.
