blown_volvo850r
As I stated on VSpeed I am in, although I'm still curious what his tuning entails. Does he just do remaps to dial in AFR's or does he take other things into account. For a '40 I have a fairly extensive mod list, and I think it unlikely he'd have a chip that would work out perfect the first go around.I'll shoot him another email. Or why don't u do it? U could probably ask better questions for urself than I could. I'll PM u his email.
maiku
since they're free remaps, just do a dyno and give him a sheethe should be able to get some nice numbers from your S40 the first time around

Stateside support is relatively weak for the 40's and I'm making 213/234 untuned.
T5BRICK
I'm pretty sure some people who overnighted it to Oliver, had it back by the next day. SO if they sent it out tuesday morning, the would have it by mid day wednesday. ....I know for sure I can't go without my car for more than 1 day. School, work, and lets not forget about the girlfriend that isn't possible. send it on a monday, Oliver does his magic on tuesday and ships it back to you, you'll have it wednesday.you could always source a 2nd ECU for your car and send 'em the extra. Can anyone confirm/disconfirm this?
Autotechnica
Guys, I'm still confused. We send oliver the computer so he can solder the chip onto the board correct? There's no reflashing done? Can't I just pay for the chip and have him mail it to me? I don't want to send the computer in. I can solder the chip in myself. Will a reflash and soldering the chip onto the computer produce the same results? I would think that it would. I too, may be interested in just having someone local do it simply for the sake of no downtime. Perhaps there would be a labor discount if Oliver doesn't have to do the soldering? V Tuning 850
Ok Aldo, wants to know if the credit card issue has been solved, and if he can send his ECU in like a week later if possible.Aldo if I am wrong in saying this from our AIM convo, correct it, and I will correct it in my post. I would think that it would.i don't imagine he would do that.is it that bad to be without your car for 3 days? also, you could think about sourcing a 2nd ECU from a junkyard so you could drive your car while the chip was out. also, for the last GB, i believe he charged $15 to solder a socket onto the board. i think this would be a good idea for relashes and the like. 98BRICK
woah theres alot of mis-information goin on here....I emailed Oliver w/ some more specific questions to try and get some clarity....this is my understanding:custom upgrades are possible....if not why wood there be remaps? I sent him a list of my mods and he sed he cood handle them.upgrades are "flashed"....chips are available at extra $$$ so that u can switch between upgraded and stock on ur own (trips to the dealer, etc)....i dont think hes gonna send u a chip to solder urself at a reduced price...he cant control ur soldering skills....as soon as i get confirmation from him on my specific questions....consider me in on this.... At first it was stated that we would get our computer reflashed as well as a spare "chip" to go along with our flashed ECU. I want to know if I can just skip the flashing process and just have him mail me the chip. Less work for him.Bry

I am almost certain that the following is true - The speedtuning chip that the group buy is for is a chip not a reflash of your ecu. The chip is soldered on... you could ask him to just send you the chip, but I think there's a good chance that he will not do it. You can get the CHIP reflashed for specific upgrades at a later time if you like. No "reflashing" of your ecu occurs.

However, why do you think he wouldn't just send me the chip? It would save him a lot of trouble, is it for warranty reasons? Obviously he wouldn't be responsible if I did a half-assed soldering job and ruined my board. I've never had a problem with other companies sending me the chip in the past. Eg. Dinan for BMW or Turner Motor Sport. Anyways, what you're saying is that he solders on a new ST chip onto my board and I get my old stock chip back as well? V Tuning 850
My question is why doesn't Oliver come on the board and answer these questions. I mean it would help more. I mean I have no questions. I just want my upgraded ECU.
