S40t4 Cel And Code

So the T4 has started idling erratically... Stalling at traffic lights, etc. CEL came on, but has since gone off again.

The good ol' Carchip reports it as a P0107 which I think is Volvo-ese for Excess Funds in Bank Account, Please Visit your Dealer. Of course this is an incorrect reading :P

Any easy fixes, or am I in for a new MAP sensor? Where is it hidden in my car?

Thanks!

i can't remember what my CEL code was but it sounds like you need a MAP(i thought it was MAF, but same difference).

MAP = manifold absolute pressure

MAF = Mass Air Flow.

Different sensors... Hopefully it's mAP not MAF, as MAF costs 2.5x what MAP costs...

It started messing around again today, after seeming to be OK for a couple of days. Seems that if I push the car hard, when I next stop it stalls and I get the CEL...

Gonna stop by the dealer tomorrow morning and pick up a MAP and get them to clear codes for me :(

Well one trip to Volvo later and I am still alive... Barely.

Seems that all my fiddling and checking connections had upset the EMS a bit ;) When they pulled codes for me, they got MAF, Spin sensor, UNKNOWN EFI FAULT, plus a couple of others. So I got them to clear, took the car for a quick drive to replicate the problem, and sure enough got a CEL through the tried and trusted method of redlining it...

Back onto the handheld scanner - UNKNOWN EFI FAULT. So they eventually agreed to plug the thing into the VADIS cart for me. MAP sensor (phew). New one is in, car seems to be right as rain.

Oh and VADIS also picked up a DSA problem - torque reduced, etc - and they told me it was probably because of my single blown brake light!? :ph34r: the :monkey:s
