SadPandas
Hello all, i just recently purchased a 2002 s80 and want to get some fog lamps installed. I called volvo and the quoted me $150 for the parts $100 for labor and and another $30 for 'reprogramming'. does this mean i can only get fog lamps installed by them? do performance shops 'reprogram' if they were to do the job for me? any help you guys could give would really help me out. i am enjoying my s80 like no other car i have ever owned. Thanks!Pandas
yangotang
Yes, you will need to reprogram your car in order to have the headlights work. Performance shops probably won't be able to do it for you, because the software can only be downloaded from the Volvo Information database and programmed via the Volvo programming cart. yangotang
Add: You can probably buy the parts (foglamps, switch, etc.) from FCPGroton, which may have a discount over the dealer price, and pay the dealer to install the parts for you. This may save you a few dollars. SadPandas
Thanks so much for the quick and informative replies guys, I will look into purchasing from another place and having the people over at Rusnak Volvo in Pasadena do the install. I can't believe how nice this car feels and drives. I am looking forward to driving as much as possible these days... too bad the gas prices are so out of hand. I have another question posted over in the Audio/Video forum as well regarding the ipod adapter. If you guys have time and feel like helping me out even more you could go there and take a look at it. Thanks again!

SadPandas
Are there more choices when it comes to fog lamps and bulbs for the s80 or the factory ones pretty much it? Do any other Volvo lamps fit on the S80? I have had some trouble locating the right ones besides the factory ones. Thanks again in advance, glad i found this place.
