Guest Guest_Shane_*
Hi,I am looking to buy a 2001 or 2002 S6OTMy local service shop has (2) 2002 S60T's, one that has AWD and the other FWD.Both have around 50,000 miles. Should I pay the extra for the AWD? Does the AWD make a big difference? Are the AWD cars prone to more problems? Also is the any difference between the 2001 and 2002 in terms of reliabilty?Thank You,Shane
javadoc
Register, and put in your location if you would. Well, you're not going to get a high-pressure turbo in the awd in that year, so if you're concerned about getting better performance (not in the snow) then you're going to want the fwd model, if it's T5. At least IMO. If you don't even live in a snowy climate, don't even bother w/the awd as you'll just add more items that can break.
skane
Hi,I just registered. I am located in Plainville, Massachusetts.I'm not overly concerned about performance, more so reliabilty.I just heard that the FWD S60 T may not be good in winter conditions. maiku
i've driven the AWDpretty quick carAWD is really fun to play with, especially around cornersif you want raw power, go with FWD T5but if you don't really care about speed, the AWD is perfect
keko
I wanted an AWD for winter driving conditions... LOL we had 5ft of snow last January!!! Probably wouldn't have made any difference since trucks and snowmobiles were the only things driving down my street then. My problem was finding one, I couldn't, so I wen't with the FWD and I love it. I get around fine with a nice pair of all-seasons. If the roads get too bad, I take out the F-150. montgom
FWD. Cheaper to run, own and repair. better mileage. Also, if you need AWD to go somewhere, better to stay home.Bob
V Tuning 850
I have an AWD S70 and I love it. I know it isn't an S60. But it has AWD. It is great in snowy conditions. And a lot of fun too.
