Which S70

Hello,

I am looking to buy a S70. I've been reading a lot of negative things about the 2000 model year.

Apparently there are problems with the electronic trottle body and etc. Are there other model years that

are better than the 2000?

Also we you buy a volvo with 126,000 miles if it has been well maintained, or is it too high of mileage?

1998 is the best model year for S70

basically an updated 850

126 miles is nothing

some users have 200+ miles on their cars and they're still running strong

I thought it might be best to get a newer model. But I guess newer isn't always better.

99-00 models have the electronic throttle, which tends to fail

Agreed.

The '98 has very similar engine characteristics to the 850 series with an interior which is overall better than the 850. It's quieter (to some extent) but you have to look out for bubbling door decor.

Plus, the '98 has ME4.4, which (at this point in time) has a lot more possibilities for performance upgrades. There are certain things which you can't do on '99+ cars, such as a MBC (without throwing a code).
