mikie
I was removing the glove box trying to make it completely silent, and I found some piece that was detached. It has a metal rod that seems to go to the firewall and the black plastic part that you see in the pic has a break in it. I found a logical spot were I believe it goes so that the part is almost at an angle of 90 degrees so that it could be pulled straight and return to an angle. Could someone enlighten me to what this is cause I have no clue.
Bay13
That would be the recert plastic handle thats suppose to be connected to the recert motor. It has a square hole that fits on the square shaft of the motor. Is the square on the plastic broken, can't tell by the Pic. If it is get a new one. I don't mean to be annoying but what is the purpose of the recert plastic handle, better yet what does recert mean?
Bay13
Recert = recirculationon the climate control panel you can select if you want the air in the car recirculated, or if you want to take in outside air. That plastic arm that is attached to a longer metal arm, opens and closes the outside flapper. That plastic handle is just part of the linkage. Volvo Virgin
Rich,In my car I always seem to get outside air no matter what setting I have the recert on.Very noticeable when there is a diesel truck in front of me and I try to close of the outdside air to reduce fumes in the cabin.Could this be the cause and/or what else should I be looking at? RWagin
WOw, I was going to guess but then it would be a guess and I would have been wrong. I thought it was something to do with HVAC though. (airmix)
Bay13
RobPull the glove box lining out and you should have a pic like whats posted above. Check to make sure your arm is attached to the motor drive shaft. The arm might be white instead of black as well.
