Best Place To Tap Into 12v?

Where's the best place to hook up the hot lead of this adapter? I would think it needs to be switchable with the radio. Also, when I'm doing this splicing, do I need to disconnect the battery?

dpends on hwat it draws, if not a lot, and you need it to come on with the radio, you can tap into the radio harness.

but the safest way is to put it into the ignitional main harness under the steering column and tape into ACC or ignition...but you gotta take off hte knee bolster and all that good ness.

i would also recommend putting a inline fuse on it no matter what

Thanks for your reply. The VOLALP is actually an adapter from an Alpine CD changer to the CD port on my SC-811 radio. The adapter already has the hot lead with an inline fuse. Sure would be easier to patch into the radio harness...

Cool. Hey, thanks a lot! So looking at the radio connector diagram I'll be splicing into 13A on the A plug of the radio harness (yellow wire).
