Has anybody tried synthetic oil? Is it a good substitute? Any help would be appreciated. Also, is there a tranny drain plug on this car. Thanks. Guest Guest Posted September 18, 2005 Report Share Posted September 18, 2005 The OEM fluid is Volvo transmission oil 1161540- 8. This is the same as Mobil ATF 3309 which can probably be purchased by the case from a Mobil distributor. Flushing is more complicated than pulling a drain plug.
