nagrod18
I am installing a sub in my friends 850, but when I started to run the power wire through the normal way (the one shown on the project 850 website) we ran into a problem, the wire look has been severed. What is another way to run the power wire. I'm sure other ways have been used, lemme know what you guys think or if you have any questions. Thanks. Bing_0
look under the driver side dash, you should see a part in the floor liner where you can lift a little piece off, when you do, there is a empty little space of the bare floor revealed. take a uni-bit and put a nice neat little hole here, then use a grommit, and you have your pass through.all my power wires are done this way Bing
nagrod18
Is this the spot you were talking about? It worked out well, I think it was easier than the stupid loom I had to push my wire through. The install went well, it took a couple hours, we could have done it in less but we started at 9:15 pm.The only snag we hit that night was we didn't have the code to his radio and when I took the nut off the positive battery wire I didn't know it would cut off the power. Thank god I had my old stock radio in the basement with the code, so we just put that in. Now I have his codeless radio, when I feel up to it I will try to get the code for it. I put the bass knob in the center console and I love the way it looks. The only thing I need to fix is the 12V source I tapped into. I used the solid red wire on the antenna motor assembly as suggested on Project850.com, but it doesn't turn off. I know volvo is sometimes unpredictable with wires so I guess I will just have to figure out which one to tap into, no biggie. Thanks for all your help guys. Owned
The remote knob looks close to OEM. Looks like you did a good job of it. Where's the pics of the rest of the system? I wanna see!

Boomin850
I know this is going to sound completely stupid, buy I guess with me not looking first I'll just ask...Why go through the floor of the car to run the power? Are you guys just going from the battery-under the car-and to that point of entry?-MIKE D

Boomin850
I guess that's where looking at it would've helped me. Imma go check that out. I never did like the way my power lines were run anyways (through the side of the fuse box and into the cabin). Thanks again.-MIKE D

PyROZen
just a question but why a control knob for the subwoofer? Most decks with subwoofer outs have subwoofer control built in so it seems kinda redundant, just my .2. It still looks great though, almost stock as other have said. AnthonyR
One thing to note is that location in that silver plate will only work for those with automatics, as that plate is a cover for the hole where the clutch pedal master cylinder goes thru. Bing_0
even if the headunit has a built in sub control, i will always still put in a sub control knob if the amp came with one...its just a LOT easier to reach down, twist a knob, then to reach down, press a few buttons, find the right function, and then twist b
